Advanced Diagnostics, Treatment, Surgery and Therapy for Patients with Injuries to the Hand, Wrist, Arm, Elbow and Shoulder

Setting the Standard for Care of the Hand and Arm

We diagnose, treat, repair and manage the complete rehabilitation of injuries to the hand, wrist, elbow, arms and shoulder. Patients from elite athletes and active adults to children and disabled seniors with unique care requirements turn to The Philadelphia and South Jersey Hand Centers for expert care.

We continue to improve techniques and develop innovative protocols for the treatment of injured and diseased hands. The physicians of The Hand Centers have developed a number of innovations now used by surgeons throughout the world. Research remains an important part of The Hand Centers’ mission.

By combining dedication to research, education, training, high levels of patient satisfaction and quality outcomes, The Philadelphia Hand Centers continue to lead the way to recovery for their patients. Recognized as one of the World’s leading centers for hand care, the Hand Centers are also extraordinarily convenient to patients in the Eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

A Heritage of Excellence

In 1976, The Philadelphia Hand Centers held their first seminar for surgeons and therapists. This academically focused annual event is known as The Philadelphia Meeting. Celebrating over 20 years of success, it continues to attract professionals in hand surgery and rehabilitation from nearly every state and numerous foreign countries.

Optimizing the Patient Experience

The Philadelphia Hand Center continually works to perfect the arrangement of medical teams centered about expert physician practitioners. This system gives patients a consistent experience. The same people are encountered from the receptionist at the front desk to the medical assistant and nurse practitioner in the office. In a large busy practice, this consistency to patient care dramatically improves the patient experience.

Our offices also provide radiology and hand therapy services. This helps to streamline the patient care process. Patients do not need to go to a radiology facility for x-rays, come to our office, and go elsewhere for therapy. In short, we truly try to respect the busy lives of our patients (and their families) by combining these services into convenient locations. Our therapy department provides a personalized approach to patient care that is unparalleled by other medical organizations.

Research, Advanced Training and Fellowship

We have a long-standing reputation for advanced research and we maintain an internationally respected academic fellowship program and other teaching programs.

We have trained more than 100 fellows: licensed physicians who have learned our specialty. A two-volume resource that is edited by The Hand Center can be found in the finest universities and medical schools. Now in its fifth edition, Rehabilitation of the Hand: Surgery and Therapy, is the leading resource material about the hand and arm.
