Sidney M. Jacoby, M.D. is the newest addition to The Philadelphia and South Jersey Hand Centers. Raised in Margate, New Jersey, Dr. Jacoby graduated with honors from The University of Pennsylvania, prior to obtaining his M.D. from Jefferson Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University. After completing his orthopaedic training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Dr. Jacoby was honored to be selected for additional subspecialty training in hand, wrist, arm and elbow surgery at the renowned Philadelphia and South Jersey Hand Centers.
Dr. Jacoby has been recognized throughout his academic career for both scholastic excellence and a genuine devotion to patient care. As an undergraduate student at Penn, Dr. Jacoby was awarded multiple government sponsored research fellowships at The National Institutes of Health (NIH) in Bethesda, Maryland. At Jefferson Medical College, he was awarded the prestigious James D. and Jennie M. Beach Memorial Scholarship, which provided a full academic scholarship for outstanding academic performance and an extraordinary commitment to the Jefferson community. As an orthopaedic resident, Dr. Jacoby was awarded The Mark D. Chilton Award, which recognized an outstanding level of compassion and commitment to patients entrusted to his care, as well as The Philip Syng Physick Award, awarded annually to the graduating orthopaedic resident with the most outstanding senior research project.
As an avid researcher, Dr. Jacoby has already authored numerous scientific and clinical publications and looks forward to further contributing to the field of hand surgery with his colleagues at The Hand Centers.
