Leonid I. Katolik, M.D.


Dr. Leonid I. KatolikLeonid I. Katolik, M.D., a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon, returns to his hometown to join the Philadelphia Hand Center. He comes to us from the University of Washington School of Medicine where he was Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery and Adjunct Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery. While in Seattle he was also a consultant for hand and upper limb trauma at Harborview Medical Center, the nation’s leading center for orthopaedic trauma.

Dr. Katolik grew up in Philadelphia where he attended the University of Pennsylvania as a Benjamin Franklin Scholar. He graduated from Hahnemann University School of Medicine receiving the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award, the Orthopaedic Surgery Award, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at Rush-Presbyterian-St.Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Katolik went on to sub-specialty training for Hand and Microvascular Surgery at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Harborview Medical Center, before being invited to stay on as faculty.

Dr. Katolik specializes in the reconstruction of the injured wrist and elbow. He has published several dozen scientific papers and textbook chapters, and continues to help produce the knowledge that surgeons rely on. His work has been presented nationally and internationally. He lectures across the country, teaching surgeons at all levels the principles and practice of advanced surgical care of the upper limb. Dr. Katolik seeks to deliver this care in a compassionate and caring manner for all of his patients.
